Throughout the centuries songs have told stories. These are no different. They are both my story and the story of our church as we live out our faith in our city and our world. We have seen the stuff of dreams: miracles on the streets; the homeless dancing in worship; lives being transformed by the gospel.

We’ve also seen the stuff of reality. We’ve experienced moments when it makes no sense at all. Even as I recorded the vocals for this album we were grappling with saying goodbye to our own young hero of the faith, who passed away unexpectedly.

Between these two worlds exists a place where the Kingdom can break in and bring change.

This is the Everything In Between.

The Blue E.P is a worship album (produced by Paul Burton – known for his work with Delirious?).

The E.P was initially made to meet the demand for the songs from St Thomas Philadelphia, but this recording has also attracted wider interest. Three of the five songs have featured on New Wine Live albums after use at their summer festivals.

“…this five-track EP has a fun, refreshing, exciting and engaging feel and will appeal to youth and adults alike…It plays like an incredible journey, beginning with an intimate ballad feel as found with Hillsong’s ‘Saviour King’ and culminating in a huge guitar-driven chorus that could so easily have come from Delirious?’ ‘History Maker’ or Switchfoot’s ‘Dare You To Move’. Messin’ With The System is an acoustic set of songs looking at how we care for God’s world and all who live in it. Produced by Andy Baker of Resound Media it features several songs that have been used by BMS World Mission and spans several years of song writing and exploring different styles. “

Live What I Believe”, is a song about a homeless man Pete met while working in a shop during his teenage years. Pete  actually wrote the song almost 15 years ago but it has always remained close to him as a reminder that this whole music thing of worship and song writing is about something other than just himself.

The title track has also featured at the Baptist Annual Assembly in Bournemouth Arena where Pete and Ceeds (Chris Davies) played the song live over the Future Shape DVD resource they produced. It looks at our responsibility to take care of our planet and how we have drifted from God’s guidelines for healthy and responsible living.

It is thought provoking, challenging and uplifting all at the same time.
