Worship Leading & Speaking
Pete loves to take music on the road and meet new people, and has enjoyed the privilege of playing across the UK, taking in the Isle Of Man, Ireland, Scotland, as well as playing overseas in Holland, Canada and the USA.
He regularly accepts invitations to lead worship at churches and events, as well as invitations to speak as part of Sunday services, conferences and training events.
Pete also travels with his band, playing at gigs and events in the UK and abroad.
Training
Pete has been worship director at St Thomas’ Church Philadelphia for the past six years, a church of over 2,000 members in Sheffield, England. He works with a team of around 50 musicians and technicians to provide worship for the many services and conferences run by the church, and also provides training for other churches, helping equip them to build their worship life. He has worked with pastors and worship directors to give input into how to develop their churches worship life, and also provides coaching for worship leaders and teams. Some of the topics people often want to cover with Pete are leading skills, team building, band dynamics and song writing.
This can happen in a few different ways:
- Pete could visit your church and lead a training day.
- He could coach you through skype calls – a method that has worked well in the past to provide on-going development for worship leaders or worship pastors.
- You could visit Pete – a method that has worked particularly well in the area of coaching for song writing.

Pete and his band rocked The Upper Room at a recent gig. It was really encouraging to see so many of the youth and teens, in particular, engaging in a mega worship experience and coming away energised and fired up.

We recently had Pete James and his band over for a worship weekend which included various seminars, hands-on practical workshop sessions for musicians & singers, a chat show/concert evening, as well as taking the service on Sunday morning.
